SPRING Session Info

Spring REGISTRATION is open!

Spring is here — and this training is built around the core building blocks that make players better: cleaner technique, sharper execution under pressure, and repeatable habits that transfer directly to games.

This spring we’ll be adding a major emphasis on ball striking and finishing on goal — from clean contact and body mechanics, to timing, decision-making, and composure in front of goal.

Goalkeepers are strongly encouraged to attend. Modern keepers must be comfortable as an outlet and decision-maker with the ball at their feet — first touch, passing range, driven balls, and distribution under pressure matter just as much as shot-stopping. Young goalkeepers will benefit from the footwork focus that we have but will also be able to jump in goal at the end of each sessions. High school aged goalkeepers will face a ton of shots on Fridays but will benefit greatly from the technical warm-up as well.

Spring Session Information

Build Game-Changing Ball Striking & Finishing

In soccer, games are decided by moments — and the players who can strike the ball cleanly and finish under pressureseparate themselves quickly.

Our Spring Academy is built to develop the skills that directly produce end product:

  • More goals
  • More assists
  • More danger created with fewer touches
  • More confidence in front of goal

Ball striking and finishing are not “just shooting.” They’re a complete performance skill that requires:

  • Clean mechanics (contact, posture, balance, plant foot, hip alignment)
  • Repeatable technique at speed
  • Fast decision-making (driven vs placed, near-post vs far-post, first-time vs extra touch)
  • Composure under pressure when defenders and game chaos show up

When players become true ball strikers, everything changes: they can punish space, hit early, finish through traffic, serve quality balls, and create consistent threats from wider areas and the top of the box.

Goalkeepers should attend too — modern keepers must be able to strike and distribute with confidence. Being clean with the ball at your feet isn’t optional anymore; it’s part of winning games.

At the Spokane Soccer Academy, we use training methods developed over 20+ years to help players produce results in real game situations — not just look good in lines.

Training will include a blend of non-opposed repetition (to groove mechanics) and opposed game-real pressure (to build execution under stress), such as:

  • Striking technique progressions (laces drives, inside-foot placement, receiving into strike, finishing off different services)
  • Finishing patterns that mirror match moments (cutbacks, near-post runs, far-post timing, top-of-box actions)
  • First-touch to finish (setting the ball with purpose to strike quickly and cleanly)
  • Two-footed finishing so players aren’t predictable and can score from more angles
  • Opposed finishing (defender pressure, limited touches, transition moments) to develop true composure

At Spokane Soccer Academy, we use training methods developed over

Our sessions are intentional, demanding, and proven — and the results speak for themselves: many of Spokane’s top high school and collegiate players (and a handful of professionals) have trained in this environment and continue to come back whenever they’re home.

Training for Every Level

Our Academy is not just for the “best of the best", although our oldest session is geared towards pushing older players hard. Every player starts somewhere, and we love helping younger athletes build the foundation they need to grow and improve. While we do not recommend that new or inexperienced players join our high school–aged sessions (2010 & above), we are more than happy to welcome new players into any of our other age groups.

Our goal is simple: meet players where they are, and then PUSH them to be better everyday by giving them the tools to succeed, and create an environment where they can develop a lifelong love for the game.
